Our wholly owned subsidiary, American Petroleum Solutions Inc., has patented technology that can effectively extract and separate oil from the clay, sand and water which make up tar and oil sands deposits. In November 2009 we conducted oil extraction pilot tests on tar sands samples from both
Alberta, Canada and Utah, producing oil extraction rates exceeding 99%.

November 5, 2009 -- Huntington Beach, California -- MarketWire
Advanced Clean Technologies, Inc. (Stock Symbol: ACLH) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, American Petroleum Solutions, Inc. has successfully completed a demonstration test of oil extraction from tar sand samples from the Utah Tar Sands.

Russell Kidder, CEO of Advanced Clean Technologies stated,

“American Petroleum Solutions, using its patented, non-hazardous chemical reagents in an ambient temperature environment, was able to successfully extract and separate a high percentage of the oil present in the tar sand sample."

"We believe that our successful demonstration test will lead to wide-spread, commercial application of our process in the Utah Tar Sands area in Eastern Utah, as well as other locations with high concentrations of tar sands.”

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management, which controls most of the in-place tar sands oil resources in Utah, estimates that there are
12 Billion to 19 Billion barrels of oil present in the Utah Tar Sands area.

About Advanced Clean Technologies, Inc.

Advanced Clean Technologies, Inc. is committed to a safer environment. We provide cost-effective, environmentally-safe, remediation solutions to today’s hazardous waste problems.

Our wholly owned subsidiary, American Petroleum Solutions, Inc., utilizes its proprietary fluidizer, which is a patented, water-based technology that provides for separation of oil from any solid surface such as soil, sand, tank interiors, and equipment. Unlike soap and surfactants, which form tight emulsion between oil and water, the fluidizer allows oil to be rejected by the solid surface, rendering a clean surface and recoverable oil.

In the case of contaminated soils or tank bottom sludge, the fluidizer is applied under high shear conditions to form slurry. This slurry is then pumped to a settling vessel where the solids are separated, dropped by gravity to the bottom of the settling vessel, and the oil floats to the top of the water-based fluidizer layer, for recovery. The fluidizer is then recycled for later use.

The APS technology for the oil reclamation and clean-up process has been used to complete projects for some of the largest oil and gas companies in the United States. These companies include:

ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Avon Petroleum, Valero Petroleum, as well as the US Navy Petroleum Reserve.

The principals and founders of APS have more than 15 years experience in providing a wide range of green services, including environmental remediation, soil remediation and other services for the oil and gas industry.

Founded by engineering professionals with environmental construction and remediation engineering backgrounds, APS provides our clients the benefit of a combination of practical solutions and technical experience in working with hazardous substances that are unique to the construction and remediation industry.

Other past major project experience includes the Mobil Oil - Torrance Refinery, Southern California Gas Company, Southern California Edison Company and the Long Beach Unified School District.
